Who

AS-IT is a unique and innovative Community Interest Company. All profits are used to help people with AS into work. There are no shareholders so no dividends are paid.

What

AS-IT seeks employment opportunities for people with AS at their ability level and with proper career progression opportunities.

When

AS-IT's office opened in September 2005. We were granted Community Interest Company status by the Community Interest Company Regulator in Jan 2006

Where

In May 2007 we moved from Lincolnshire to North Somerset. Our offices are currently in Weston-super-Mare.

Why

Most adults with Asperger syndrome are of above average intelligence, many educated to degree level or beyond. Research by the National Autistic Society estimates that only 12% of the 260,000 adults in this country with Asperger syndrome are in full time employment and that the estimated lifetime cost to the Exchequer is £750,000 for each of the other 88% not employed. Yet adults with Asperger syndrome say that finding a suitable job would improve their lives more than anything else.
